At Calvert Kielder, we provide days, holidays and experiences for people of all abilities.  If you join our team you’ll be working part-time or full-time, or volunteering within the beautiful, uplifting and unique Kielder landscape, helping us to provide life-enhancing experiences for all our guests and visitors including individuals, groups, families, businesses, schools and colleges.

Trustee

We have a Trustee Board vacancy for someone who has experience and skills in sales and marketing relevant to the leisure, tourism, educational and disability sectors.

You will be joining a group of eight Trustees and be part of an integrated team working with the executive to deliver a sustainable future.

Full Time Activity Staff

We are looking for full time candidates who are confident and engaging and ideally have experience of working in an activity centre with a water sports background, ideally with a dinghy instructor and canoe qualifications and/or a ropes background with climbing wall award/instructor or SPA/RCI and ERCA high ropes course instructor.

Seasonal Activity Staff

We are looking for confident and engaging people who have experience of working with and leading groups. This could be working at an outdoor centre, assisting a local Scouts group, coaching a team or volunteering with other clubs or groups.

If you have a D1 driving license that would also be useful. We work with people of all abilities so if you have a background in this let us know. Use the application form to demonstrate that you’ve got what it takes.

Freelance Activity Staff – Summer 2020

We are looking for freelance activity staff to help with our NCS summer programme. You will be running activities such as climbing wall, canoeing, group walk and raft building as well as integrating problem solving into the programme to develop team work.

Carer/Apprentice Carer

We are looking for permanent full and part time candidates. We also run an apprenticeship programme. Carers at Calvert Kielder enjoy the opportunity to accompany guests and take part in the many outdoor activities, whilst also ensuring that the care needs of guests are met to the highest possible standards. You don’t have to have formal qualifications in the caring or activities industries, but you do have to be enthusiastic, caring and motivated. All aspects of personal care are met by the team, ensuring our guests enjoy a break from home and their carers have a break from their caring responsibilities. Volunteering Opportunities

At Calvert Kielder, we rely on and appreciate the help and support of our volunteers. Volunteering allows you to contribute directly to the amazing work that we do and help to make our guests’ stay as memorable as possible.

Volunteer Roles

There are many varied volunteer roles available including:

  • Socialising with our guests
  • Helping the activity team provide activities
  • Helping the care team support our guests
  • Maintenance and gardening work around site
  • Domestic or kitchen work
  • Customer service and administration
  • Supporting the fundraising team or fundraising in your local area

We offer short and long term volunteering roles, work, gap year and student placements and internships.
