We offer fully catered residential or day adventure training experiences and can tailor a package to meet your objectives.
Our aim is to provide support for former service personnel who may be struggling with the challenges and culture shock of adjusting to civilian life and a civilian workplace.
Our Transitions Programme will help participants to work on achieving individual and team objectives, push themselves to try new things and rebuild the confidence to go forward in their lives.
Accommodation in shared rooms, full English breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by our in house chefs and a range of challenging activities each day.
We believe a short break at Calvert Kielder can be a small step on the path to a much deserved and successful return to civilian life for our armed forces veterans.
Spend quality time away with family and friends; enjoy a fun packed and adrenaline fuelled adventure or a chilled out luxury escape in spectacular scenery, come for the day or stay a little longer.
Choose from our fantastic range of accessible self-catering accommodation and stay for 3, 4 or 7 nights all year round including Christmas and New Year. Pets are welcome in some accommodation, for an additional charge. Relax in tranquil surroundings or try our adrenalin-packed activities.
Your inclusive activity holiday includes accommodation, home cooked breakfast, lunch and evening meal and a wide range of on and off-site activities. Our team will tailor an overnight or multi day programme of exhilarating, fun and challenging activities.

Our award-winning affordable and flexible care packages for adults aged 18 and over include 24-hour care provision in en suite rooms, all meals, snacks, drinks and activities. Take a break from everyday life in a supported environment where you can try new challenges and experiences, meet new people and make new friends. We will tailor your break to meet your needs as an individual visiting on your own, as a couple, or as a family.

Visit for the day and choose one of our exhilarating activity packages. Experience the Kielder ZipCoaster, Europe’s 1st AvatarOne™, dare to fly on the King Swing or relish the confidence that comes from mastering the 15 metre High Ropes Course. Learn to canoe or sail our trimaran.
Accommodation & Facilities
Our fully accessible accommodation is on-site and includes; access to free WiFi, use of the hydrotherapy pool and access to our bar. Menu options are available; our chefs cater for all dietary requirements and tastes.
Safety & Staffing
For your peace of mind, we are registered with AALS (Adventure Activities Licensing Service) and are a member of the IOL (Institute of Outdoor Learning). All activities are led by experienced and qualified instructors, who hold National Governing Body Qualifications including RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and British Canoeing. Our staff have undertaken specialist training in running safe activities for those with different abilities. All staff are fully Enhanced DBS checked and Calvert Kielder is registered with the Care Quality Commission.
Risk assessments and insurance information are available and we welcome pre-stay visits to help with your planning.
Calvert Kielder works closely with a number of organisations who support serving and ex-serving members of the forces, their families and carers. We are proud to partner with Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) to deliver The Northern Care Coordination Partnership (NCCP) project in the North East and North West of England.
